Hershey's Chocolate cake
















I found this cake recipe on Hershey's cocoa powder box. It has rich chocolate flavor and super moist texture and is one of my favorite recipes. It is much easier to make and perfect recipe for beginners.
 

1¾ cup all-purpose flour (maida)
2 cups sugar
¾ cup cocoa powder
1 ½ tsp. baking powder
1 ½ tsp. baking soda
½ cup vegetable oil
2 egg at room temp
1 cup milk (warm)
2 tsp. vanilla extract
1 cup boiling water


Method:

Preheat oven to 350F. Grease and flour 2 round baking pans and keep aside.

In a bowl mix all dry Ingredients. Then add eggs, oil, milk, vanilla extract and beat with a whisk for 5 min until everything is well combined. Stir in boiling water and mix again.

Divide batter in both pans equally and bake for 30 to 35 min. or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.

Cool for10 min. then remove cake on a wire rack and let it cool completely.

Dust some powder sugar or cocoa powder and sever.

Savory tapioca pudding















  







1 cup tapioca (soaked in some water for few hrs)
2 ½ cups hot water
1 tbsp ghee/butter
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp grated ginger
2 finely chopped green chilies
2 tbsp yogurt
1 tsp sugar
 Salt to taste
Coriander for garnishing

Method:
Heat ghee in a deep nonstick pan, add cumin seeds grated ginger, chilies and sauté for few sec.

Then add Tapioca and sauté for a min, then add water.  Now add salt and sugar and bring it to a boil. Turn the flame off.

Now add yogurt and mix well. Garnish with 
coriander leaves and serve immediately.

Dry peanut garlic chutney


















A very popular spicy and tasty maharashtrian side dish. Serve it with chapatti, bhakari or with rice and it will add spice to your daily meals. It takes very less time and ingredients. 

To prepare this chutney you will need:
2 cups roasted peanuts
½ cup dry coconut powder
4 tbsp. finely chopped Garlic (quantity can be changed as per taste)
2 tbsp. cumin seeds
¼ cup chili powder
1 tbsp. sugar
1 tbsp. oil
Salt to taste

Method:

In a bowl mix all the above ingredients except oil.

Now in small batches grind them to a course powder.  Once it is done add oil and mix well.

It can be Stored in an airtight container for several weeks.

Green chilies dry chutney

















I love this Hot and spicy instant chutney which can be prepared in few minutes.  It require very  few ingredients and tastes delicious.

Ingredients:

2 cups Serrano peppers finely chopped (big green chilies)
¼ cup roasted sesame seeds
¼ cup dry roasted coconut powder
For tempering:
2 tbsp. oil
1 tsp. mustard seeds
1 tsp. cumin seeds
Pinch of asafetida/ Hing
1 tsp. turmeric powder
Few curry leaves
1 tsp sugar
Salt to taste

Method:
Heat oil in pan.  Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds once they splutter add asafetida, turmeric powder and curry leaves, sauté for few seconds then add green chilies and sauté till chilies change colour and are little crispy.

Now add roasted coconut powder and sesame seeds, sauté for few more min. then add sugar and salt mix well. 
Once it is cooled down store in an airtight container which will help preserve its freshness for few days.
